Create an Assembly

This feature is part of the Advanced Inventory Control Add-on Module.

An assembly is a product that combines multiple inventory items, i.e. a hanging basket. First you will create the list of items included in the assembly, then when the assemblies are physically built, you can perform a specific shift transaction to arrange the inventory correctly.

Note: Before you can create an assembly, you must first add the assembly to the Master Items Library and the Item Sizes Library.

Preparing an Assembly

  1. Navigate to Inventory Icon Inventory, then Master Items & Sizes Library Icon Master Items & Sizes.
  2. Open the Item Sizes tab in the left pane and find the assembly using the search bars and double-click on it.
  3. In the right pane, find the General tab.
  4. Make sure that the “Item Class” is set to Assembly.

Creating the Bill of Materials

The Bill of Materials is like the “recipe” to create your assembly.

  1. In the right pane, click into the Bill of Materials tab at the top of the right pane.
  2. Select an Assembly Component Cost Preference, Average Cost or Growing Cost.
  3. Click Add in the bottom of the right pane.
  4. Use the Product ID search bar to find each item that is included in the assembly. You can adjust the quantity and cost for each of the items in the assembly.

Building Assemblies

After the Bill of Materials is created, you can shift inventory items from their original crops into the assembly in preparation for sale.

  1. Navigate to Inventory Icon Inventory, then Assemblies Icon Build Assemblies.
  2. Click on New Task Icon New Assembly in the taskbar.
  3. Select a date for the assembly.
  4. Add notes about the assembly (optional).
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click Add item icon Add Items in the taskbar.
  7. A list of assemblies will appear in the left pane, enter the quantities, location, and ready info for each assembly you are building then hit Enter.
  8. You can view and/or adjust the components of each assembly in the bottom right pane by clicking on the assembly in the top right pane. Adjustment might be needed if substitutions are being made in the assembly. If track inventory is set to "Yes" on the component item, you will need to allocate the quantity used to the location where it is being deducted from.
  9. When the assemblies are correct, you will click post task icon Post Assembly in the taskbar to trigger the inventory shifts.
